Being a palette enthusiast (obsessed crazy person), I couldn't stay away from this tag. A few of the youtube girls tagged all their followers, and I'm gonna hop onto that band wagon immediatly! But before we get started, I'm gonna admit, I did not clean up and make my palettes look all shiny and new. They're used, and most of them used a lot. And I would like to show how loved they are. So let's get started! Here's the 10 questions:
1. Best Packaging
2. Best Color Payoff
3. Most Versatile
4. Best for Traveling
5. Biggest Regret
6. Best Color Names
7. Least Used
8. Most Used
9. Most Loved
10. Desert Island
Best Packaging: Too Faced Romantic Eyeshadow Palette
This palette was my first high end makeup I ever bought. And there's just something special about that first love, isn't there? This palette is a cardboard box with a magnetic locking mecanism, adorned with the most beautiful roses and golden letters. In the middle there's a beautiful makeup look, that you can easily create with the colours inside. I wouldn't take this with me anywhere, scared it might open and break. But I love having it at home, looking pretty on my old vintage vanity.Best Color Payoff: Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
I know everyone and their mothers know about the naked palettes, but here's my opinion. First of all, the colour payoff is to die for. This is what every girl dreams of, when she buys a makup palette. Secondly, the texture is soft like butter. They glide on so easily on your lids, and blend like a dream. My favourite colours in this palette is Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol and Verve... Oh, and Bootycall. Ok, so half the colours in this palette. (shut up, don't make me choose =( I love them all)Most Versatile: HOT Makeup Baked Eyeshadow Palette
This is a palette I bought a long time ago (We're talking years, people. No I don't throw anything out. ever. shhh). It's not very expensive, but the colours spoke to me, and I took a chance. The reason I chose this one for most versatile is... you can make a lot of pretty looks with this. There's 4 purple, greens, browns, yellows, pinks, and blacks. So all in all you get 24 eyeshadows with great pigment, great colour payoff, and you can make a ton of looks with this. The most used colours in this palette have been the purples, greens and browns. I don't quite know how to use yellow, to be honest. The pink you have to be super careful with, and I haven't ventured to much out into the black shadow in general.Best For Traveling: Wet n' Wild Comfort Zone Palette
The reason why I choose this for travelling is several reasons. First of all, this palette is super cheap. If it breaks, I won't be immensly upset about it. Another reason is the colours. There's both greens and browns. This means I can make two looks that works well with my eyes, but only bring one palette. I really like these shadows. They're so beautiful on the eye, and even mixing and matching as you like, looks amazing.
Biggest Regret: Mac Palette
Ok, please don't hate me. But my biggest regret have been the mac eyeshadows. I bought 5 shadows, the 15 piece pan, and was SO excited! I had heard everyone rave about these supposedly amazing eyeshadows. And boy, was I let down. They aren't all that pigmented, the colour payoff is super dissapointing, and for the price, they're definitely not worth it. I mean it is expensive! I could get a whole urban decay or too faced palette for the same price, with more and better colours. I had plans on filling up my mac palette, but now... I'm not so sure.
Best Colour Names: Too Faced Romantic Eyeshadow Palette
Soulmate, I do, Un-veil, Kiss the bride, Cut the cake, First dance, Bouquet toss, Honeymoon, Ever after. Those are the names of the romantic eyeshadow palette, and here's why I love them: they all fit into the theme of the palette. Generally for the too faced palettes, they make sure the names of the eyeshadows fit the name/theme of the palette. It just shows how much love they put into their palettes, when they make sure even the small details are perfect.
Least Used: Too Faced No Makeup Makeup Palette
This is a palette for blush, bronzer, highlight and concealer. When seeing this online I was instantly in love and HAD to have it. We all know that feeling, right? But it turns out, I pull this baby out almost never. The first couple of days I loved it, but the glam soon faded. Like the furby. Remember that one? Got the toy, and loved it for at least 10 minutes, and then you proceeded to hate the darned thing. Not that I hate this palette. But I might regret this buy just a tiiiny little bit.
Most Used: Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
It was a tough call deciding which palette to put into this category. The naked and too faced eyeshadows are the palettes I've used the most. But in the end, I think I've used this one more. Simply because there is a bigger variety of looks I can make with it. And the matte taupe colour named Tease fit's really well with the shade of my eyebrows. So this palette is really useful for me, in more than just putting on eyeshadow. Bootycall can be used as a highlighter too, if you're a bit careful with it. This palette is a holy grail product for me, and I'm so tempted to get the naked 3 palette as well.
Most Loved: Smashbox Smokebox II Photo Op Eye Shdow Palette
This fall my go to colour with all things beauty related was berry/oxblood. And when I bought this palette it was simply for one colour in perticulair: Black Currant. But since using it I've found out how amazing all the other colours look as well. I am SO impressed! The black is SO pigmented it can easily be used as an eyeliner, and the matte cream is a perfect highlight. I love this palette so much! But had you asked me 3-4 months ago, I'd probably answered my too faced romantic eye palette. And to be honest, that palette do have a special place in my heart.
Desert Island: Etude House Dear My Blooming Eyes Palette in Swaying Heart Purple
This is a new friend in my collection of palettes. Jeongie bought this for herself, but the colours didn't show up that well on her lids. So she gave it to me. I've tried it yesterday, and blogged about it, and it preformed so well on me. The reason I want this if I was on a deserted island is: it's small, and easy to carry around. The colours are beautiful, and neutral, but can be made to look like a more night time -party'ish look. There's a mirror filling up the entire top of the palette. These things combined, makes it a perfect "deserted island" palette.
