Being House Owners?!

Hi guys!

Big news!
My boyfriend and I bought a house together! We've been searching on and off for the last 3 years or so, and finally found a house we liked, and was at a stage in our lives, where the bank would lend us the money. SO! What you're seeing here is our home!

The first thing we can talk about is the garden, since it's shown in the picture above. It's small, but beautiful and simple. Something I'm liking A LOT! It means I have a beautiful garden to be in, but won't have to work hours and hours to keep it looking pretty.

The house have a big kitchen, with a half-wall to another small room. This is on the pictures being used as a dining room area, but we've planned to use it as a livingroom. Or at least that's the plan so far!

Next  to the kitchen there's anoter room, with 2 doors into bedrooms, and a staircase to the 1st floor. The previous owners used it as a kind of play room, or "a space we don't really use" -room. But this is where we plan to have as dining room. There's more than enough room, and we'll figure out maybe switching the rug out for some wooden floor. MAYBE!

As for the two tiny rooms down stairs. It's currently not going to be used for much, except keeping stuff we can't find room for. But when kid no 2 comes, the two rooms down stairs are going to be Sofia's. The idea being she get's a room for her bed, and one for her play stuff.

Upstairs there's a main room, and 2 bigger bedrooms. The family before us used this big room, as a livingroom. But we will use it as an office space. When Sofia and her brother/sister will need a desk, we'll give them a space up here as well, so we have this one room with computers, desks and stuff. We'll all be gathered in ONE room, which I really like the idea of. In this room I'm planning to maybe DIY the desk for my boyfriend and I. We're not sure what to do exactly yet, but I have a few ideas.

ANOTHER THING!
The 1st floor has a tiny little balcony, and it is so cute and pretty. I have so many plans to just sit there and soak in the sunshine in the mornings, with my cup of coffee... YEESSSSS!

Last but not least, the two bedrooms upstairs! The biggest one will be my boyfriend and I's. The reasoning being our bed is the biggest xD And I have my giant victorian inspired vanity, which I of course will take with me! The smaller one (still big though) will be Sofias room, and later her brothers/sisters. We need to have the youngest child sleeping at the same floor as we do. But since we don't have plans to have a child for the next maybe 2 years, who knows when that will become relevant.

AND NOW. The rooms and how everything looks from a birds-eye view. PERFECT HOUSE, right?!

I wanted to write about this earlier, but of course couldn't since we hadn't finished the deal. But we're now a week past when people could back down and regret the buy/sale. So now we're safe! The house is OURS!

WOHOO!

I have so many 'grown up' points now huh?!

Givskud Zoo, family trip, and... dinosaurs?

Hi guys!

First of all, look at that cute little grump face Sofia's showing off in that photo, hahah! And second: Oh my god, it's been forever since I've written. I promised myself to get back into blogging, but a missing camera, and a lot of other unimportant poop came in the way. Laziness, mostly. Hah xD Anyway! Today I have motivation AND proper pictures! WOHOO!

Today is my dad's birthday, and my parents offered to take me, my boyfriend, and Sofia to a zoo. We of course accepted the offer, and arrived at Givskud Zoo at 9:30. Sofia absolutely loves animals, so it was so exciting to try this with her.

They had a couple of giant areas, where we were allowed to drive in to where the animals lived. It was AMAZING! The first area had lions, 13 females and one male. We didn't really see too much, because of course, lions are a bit shy. The other part had zebras, giraffs and the like.

My mom had prepared lunch at home, and brought it, picnic style, along for the ride. We found a place to park and an open area to eat. She had sausage rolls, pizza rolls, cold potato salad, cold meat balls, and my dad found a grill (proviced by the park/zoo) to fry some sausages. It was SO good.

After that, it was DINO time! Aparantly they'd modeled a bunch of prehistoric dinosaurs... in real size. JEEZ! they were huge! Sofia loved this place more than any of the animals she'd seen. She ran around yelling WOOOW all the time.

Here's a picture of one of the biggest dinosaurs we saw. It tail was ENOURMOUSLY long, and I couldn't fit it all into the frame. Sofia wanted to ride and pet it, which was of course completely impossible. Hahah. Gotta credit the girl for not being scared, though. wow!

Sofia felt like such a big girl, riding in the back seat with me and my mom, without her kiddy seat. We drove so slow (20-30 km/h) there was no danger for her to sit like that, so in favour of her being able to actually see what happened outside the car, She LOVED it.

Of course the zoo also had what you consider normal for a zoo, closed pens with animals. But it was far between, and the big attraction was definitely the big closed off areas where the animals got to live a more natural true-to-nature life. Here's a cute elephant taking a sand-bath, though. Adorable!

Today was an absolutely amazing day, and I'm so greatful my dad wanted to spend his birthday, in our company, looking at cool animals and eating great food.

Life Coaching, Positive Thinking, and Starting School

Hi Guys!

Oh dear, it's been quite a while since I wrote here. To be honest, I didn't feel the need to write at all. But now I find myself missing the therapeutic act of letting your thoughts out. So here we go.

I've been having sessions once a week with a life coach. Honestly, I was very sceptic about what she could do for me. But after almost 2 months, I can now say she has changed my life. You go to a life coach, and choose a subject about yourself you want to change or make better. I firstly worked on allowing myself to be more outgoing, and accepting that I too desserve a good and fulfilling life. We now moved on to working on my need to always be proper/prepared/wellbehaved. I'm a bit of a control freak, and have a hard time letting go. Which, if you know me, is NO surprise. But I am hopeful for change. Because I have experienced how much she have already helped, and have no doubts she can help with this too. It's crazy how much I have changed in so little time. And even crasier if you think back to my mindset a year ago.

I used to be so bitter and angry with the world. Sad, and perhaps also a little broken. How come everyone else got to be happy and not me? Why did I always have to get the short end of the deal? What I've learned this past year is, it's all about what you put out. We all have energies we let out, and people around us pick them up. So if all I let out is negative and sad.... That's what I'm gonna get back. I noticed the change quickly, about a year ago, when I let go of a lot of my negativity.

So now I live by the rule of trying to think positive, try not to judge and expect the worst in people, try to be the change I want to see in the world. Because change was needed. A very dear friend Simona have commented on how much she could tell I needed that change, and how much better I seem now. And that was only amplified even more, after my sessions with my life coach. My family commented on how happy I seemed all of the sudden. How I stopped being apologetic about myself. How it was no longer a matter about IF I was allowed a spot in this world, but more a matter of finding WHERE my spot was. You can say, I am more myself now, than I have ever been.

The last part I wanna talk about is I, about 6 months ago applied to business school. You can decide to specialize in detail, business, administration, or event management. I have applied for administration, and will have to start looking for internships either in public administration, or secretary jobs at doctors/lawyers/companies. I am SO excited to start. It's a 10 week intensive school program, with 2 years of internships afterwards. Then you go to your final exam, and then you have a business degree. I can do this, because I already have a sort of college degree. It's tough comparing danish school to american or english schools. It's just so very different. But I hope this is making sense, anyway. For the non-danish readers.

In any case. This blog will go through a bit of a transformation, and become more personal, than anything else. I'm sick of trying to write about "exciting stuff" as if my own life and personal stuff isn't exciting enough. So we're done with that. I'll try and write more about my change to a healthier and happier life in the next blog.

Until next time (hopefully soon...)

An Autumn Forest Walk

Hi Beauties!

Sunday my boyfriend, baby girl and I decided to take a walk in the country side near where we live. It  turned out we had some really great mapped paths perfect for a sunday walk, and we took advantage of having a slow day. The sun was shining, but it was SUPER cold. Sofia started out with some really sweet shoes on her feet (just so you don't think I'm totally irresponsible). But like the little pooper she is, she pulled them off. In the end I gave up.

It was absolutely beautiful! And it's definitely not the last time we'll go there. We saw some overnight shelters as well, that made us think about maybe taking friends there in the autumn, and have a super awesome sleepover. It sounds cold, yes. But also... AWESOME!

When we got back to the car, we had brownies and jasmin tea, and sofia had her fruit mash (okay, and a bit of cake too). It's been really long since I've done something like this, being outside for the sake of being outside and experiencing the nature. And sitting with a cup of hot tea, while you're freezing cold outside, is SO nice!

How did you spend the weekend?
Who else loves forest walks?

Food Inspo - A Look Through MY Instagram

Hi Beauties!

Picture found on google

I make my dinner plans a week ahead, sometimes a month ahead, even. In my calendar I write down what we'll have for dinner that week, so I make sure we never have the same things over and over. This provides a differentiated diet, and in the long run will save you money if you do it right. But sometimes the biggest problem is actually thinking up things to eat.

So I took to my instagram and looked through former posts of what I've made, and thought I'd share. If there's anything you like, and you can't find a recipe for it, write it in the comments down below, and I will tell you how to make it!

  1. Asian lettuce wraps
  2. Mashed potatoes with gravy, bacon wrapped asparagus, and roasted carrots
  3. Chicken, potato, and corn quesadillas with ketchup
  4. Pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw
  5. BBQ chicken scewers with carrot- and cucumber sticks, and corn on the cob
  6. Salmon, spinnach, and cream cheese 'bagel'
  7. Chicken and bacon sandwich with cheddar cheese
  8. Mashed potatoes, with caramelised onions, and bacon cubes
  9. Pasta salad, with bacon, and bbq chicken breast on top
I hope you enjoyed this post!
Let me know if there's any good recipes you think I should try out!

Post Apocalyptic Fashion?

Hi Beauties!

Picture from pinterest

Here's another blog with pictures from pinterest! I have for some time now been facinated by the post apocalyptic fashion trend. I know I will never wear this, and I'm not even sure I want to. But I absolutely love the aesthetics of it. How things look pretty, and practical, but at the same time slightly ruined. I love it!

One thing that seems like a common trend is big boots, leather, cotton knit, and natural earthy colors. Perhaps it's because fall is starting, that I choose to write about this now. I mean, look at that gorgeous outfit! Doesn't she look comfortable and warm?!

When I went searching for where these people got their inspiration, I went to the movies. We have for a long time been facinated by the thought of the world ending, through movie media. As example there is Resident Evil, The Road, and Doomsday.

Picture from instagram

Especially Resident Evil have some pretty cool outfits in the later movies. The picture here on the right is from the third movie in the series, and I LOVE it! She looks like someone who's had to be creative with her clothes, and wear something that gives her mobility to kick ass, and at the same time, stay warm. Also, I'm guessing clothes is not something you come across all the time, so taking whatever you can find, is probably an issue as well.

Needless to say, the nerdy side of me is having a party with this. Who wouldn't want to look like someone right out of a zombie movie, or a video game? Okay, maybe not everyone would want that, but I sure would! But let's be real here. I'm 27 and have a child. If I wanted this fashion, I should have done it when I was younger.

Would any of you guys wear this clothes?
How do you feel about the post apocalyptic fashion?

Photoshoot day with sisters

Hi Beauties!

First up, a picture of my cat, because she was a sneaky sneak, who also wanted to be part of todays photoshoot!

Alright! I have had my sisters over from yesterday, until today. And one of the things we enjoy doing, is putting on fancy clothes, I do their makeup, and then take pictures of them! Like a small mini photoshoot or something! It is a chance for me to practice makeup, and work on my photography skills. All in all very lovely.

I am actually pretty proud about how things turned out this time!

Rikke's grunge inspired look

Nanna's 50's inspired look

The second to last picture would have been a lot better, if miss diva kitty hadn't shown her bum to the camera right as I took the picture, huh? xD haha!

A small kitty update! Mellow is doing amazing, and so is the four kittens! They're starting to get eyes now, so we're just over the moon! Our friends and family are of course completely smitten, and in love with the tiny creatures!

My sisters look absolutely stunning, don't they? <3
