Hi guys!
First of all, look at that cute little grump face Sofia's showing off in that photo, hahah! And second: Oh my god, it's been forever since I've written. I promised myself to get back into blogging, but a missing camera, and a lot of other unimportant poop came in the way. Laziness, mostly. Hah xD Anyway! Today I have motivation AND proper pictures! WOHOO!
Today is my dad's birthday, and my parents offered to take me, my boyfriend, and Sofia to a zoo. We of course accepted the offer, and arrived at Givskud Zoo at 9:30. Sofia absolutely loves animals, so it was so exciting to try this with her.
They had a couple of giant areas, where we were allowed to drive in to where the animals lived. It was AMAZING! The first area had lions, 13 females and one male. We didn't really see too much, because of course, lions are a bit shy. The other part had zebras, giraffs and the like.
My mom had prepared lunch at home, and brought it, picnic style, along for the ride. We found a place to park and an open area to eat. She had sausage rolls, pizza rolls, cold potato salad, cold meat balls, and my dad found a grill (proviced by the park/zoo) to fry some sausages. It was SO good.
After that, it was DINO time! Aparantly they'd modeled a bunch of prehistoric dinosaurs... in real size. JEEZ! they were huge! Sofia loved this place more than any of the animals she'd seen. She ran around yelling WOOOW all the time.
Here's a picture of one of the biggest dinosaurs we saw. It tail was ENOURMOUSLY long, and I couldn't fit it all into the frame. Sofia wanted to ride and pet it, which was of course completely impossible. Hahah. Gotta credit the girl for not being scared, though. wow!
Sofia felt like such a big girl, riding in the back seat with me and my mom, without her kiddy seat. We drove so slow (20-30 km/h) there was no danger for her to sit like that, so in favour of her being able to actually see what happened outside the car, She LOVED it.
Of course the zoo also had what you consider normal for a zoo, closed pens with animals. But it was far between, and the big attraction was definitely the big closed off areas where the animals got to live a more natural true-to-nature life. Here's a cute elephant taking a sand-bath, though. Adorable!
Today was an absolutely amazing day, and I'm so greatful my dad wanted to spend his birthday, in our company, looking at cool animals and eating great food.
