The Best Macaroons In The World?!

Hi Beauties!

In the easter vacation my boyfriend took a 3 day trip with his mom and sister, to visit their other sister. She is currently studying in Paris, and was feeling a bit homesick. She was home a month ago or so, and had brought us all gifts. I got a beautiful Paris Starbucks mug for my collection, and some lipglosses. My boyfriend among other things, got some lovely macaroons. Sadly for him, but lucky for me, he wasn't all that fond of them. So I ended up eating them instead. And I guess you can guess how I liked them, since I demanded my boyfriend took some more home with him for me. He went above and beyond, and brought me 6 beautiful macaroons in the most gorgeous packaging. A round tube with a hard shell, that I'm sure I can clean up and re-use for something else. I mean, how gorgeous is this?! Am I right?

Worth The Hype?

The one thing we all want to know, including myself when I first tried them... Are they really worth the hype? When they all went to the Laudrée bakery in Paris to get me these, there was a massive line out onto the street. the bakery even had this bouncer- sort of guy, who stood at the door, to let in people a few at the time. There were SO many there. Aparantly the masses have spoken, and decided these small treats are worth it. And I gotta say, I'm agreeing 100%. As a woman with a very big sweet tooth, it means a lot when I say "I have never tasted any cake or cookie as good as this". I even think they trumpf most candy too.

The outside shell on the cake is hard, and the inside is soft. Between the two cookies, there's a soft layer of either jam or mousse -I'm guessing. It is heaven!

Flavours

I asked for chocolate, chocolate and even more chocolate. And my boyfriend surprised me with some really amazing flavours. I got two of each flavour, one better than the next.

• Raspberry

I don't think I could tell you  a favourite, to be honest. Because they're all amazing. I'm salviating as I'm writing here, actually. And now with them all gone, all I can do is dream of the sweet parisian treats.

Serve with a sweet, fruit flavoured tea, and you're good to go. yum!

All I can say is, if you go to Paris, or knows someone who is going. Demand they take home some of these for you. If you are a sucker for cake, like I am, this will most likely be the best treat you will ever have.
