Stopping Terrorists And Running From Zombies!

Hi Beauties?

Now there's a headline you weren't expecting on this blog, I'm sure! And It is not as serious as it might sound, don't you  worry. I'm here to explain! This post is about 2 excercise apps made by the same company!

The Walk

This app is about getting yourself up and out  for a walk. You put your headphones in your ear and press play... And then a story starts in your ear. A lady is walking next to you, you're on your way to the train. She gives you a package, and tells you to follow along without making notice of yourself. Soon enough you're told to keep walking, don't stop, don't look back. People are after you, and you need to get out of town ASAP! Terrorists have exploded a bomb in the town center, that has killed off anything electric. Trains stop, phones stop working. You now have the only working phone in the entire town. The lady next to you is an agent, trying to stop the terrorists. And now you're part of the story too.

Does this sound appealing to you? Don't worry, I haven't told you more than what you learn in the first 10 minutes of walking. So there is definitely a lot more to this story, just waiting to be unfolded. This app costs 2.99$ and is available on both iphone and android!

My personal thoughts on the app is that it's a great way to make yourself active. The story is exciting, and you want to keep walking and walking, just so you can hear more of the story. Don't cheat yourself by just listening to it at home, because you can. The app is not controlled by your movement, and will not stop just because you do. A minus, some might say, because it allows cheating. But if you do cheat, it's only yourself you're letting down. And you're robbing yourself of otherwise amazing experiences outside. I LOVE using this app for whenever I walk. Even if it's for going down to buy some groceries. The only minus for this app, is that you have to press on every single sound clip for it to start. That's really irritating if it's cold, and you wanna keep your hands in your pockets, instead of looking at a phone screen.

Zombies, Run!

Where 'The Walk', was an app to motivate you to walk. this ones is also pretty obvious what it want's you to do. The world have literally ended, and Zombies have overun the entire world. You're part of the few who's survived, and are flown into a small town by helicopter, on a mission to help. But close to the town you're shot down and forced to take a bit of radio equipment and a parashute, and jump out of the plane. In your ears a man talks to you, and tries to get you safely back to the town, base camp, without being eaten by the massive army of zombies right behind you... Now there's only one thing to do. Run for your life.

This app is in my opinion amazing at what it's supposed to. It really does motivate me to go out and run, even though I am NOT a skilled runner. This was actually my very first serious run, in my life. I ran almost 3 km in 21 minutes, and if you have any running experience, you know that is not overly amazing, haha. During your run, the app recognizes any playlists you have on your phone, and shuffles through the songs when you run. Whenever a soundclip is ready for you, it automaticly turns off the music and plays itself. A really nice trick! Because I don't know if I'd be using this app if I couldn't listen to music while running. I made a specific zombie run playlist. If you wanna see that, comment down below! Another thing. During your run, you pick up items, like water bottles, first aid kits, and baseball bats. All very important when being a badass zombie fighting runner, of course! When you get home, all these items you collected helps you build up the base. You get to upgrade the buildings that are already there, and buy new ones, with your items. Slowly but surely this town will start to flurish because of you. Last but not least, this app has a webpage. You can make a profile and it will upload your runs, and help you keep track of how well you're doing. And you can share your progress with others, and keep track of your friends too.

This app is currently on sale for 50% off at only 3.99$. Of the two apps, this is probably the one I will be using the most! If I can do this, anyone can! If it's your first time running, remember to drink some water when you get home, slow down and walk every once in a while, and don't get mad at yourself for getting tired or out of breath. It's ok!

An advice I learned the hard way though. I went for an hour long walk in the wrong pairs of shoes. Don't do that! I ended up buying myself a new pair of running shoes, that I'm now very fond of! They don't have to cost you half a horse. Just buy something meant for running or walking.

Do you own any of these apps, and what do you think?
If you don't own it, would you be inspired to get it?
