Today in the mail, I got a package! Saturday I ordered a Fitbug Orb in white from Amazon.co.uk. The package was sceduled to be here friday the earliest, so I am super impressed with how fast it's here! Wow! I have been so excited about getting this one.
All pictures today, was taken with my iphone, so I apologize for the lack of quality.

A while ago I wrote about getting running shoes, and starting to run. It was sadly stopped by my knees hurting a lot. Turns out, I needed some special soles for my shoes. I have them now, and have been running two times a week for about a month and a half. It's a good start on a more active life, I think. My goal was to change things up, without feeling too overwhelmed. I have done that several times, just going full speed ahead. But that have only resulted in me going back to my old habbits again. NOT this time, guys! I refuse!
Anyway! My idea this time is, that I need some more stable motivation during the day. And I hope this little tech device will do it for me. It cost me 519dkkr (including shipping), and it only took 4 days to arrive, 3 work days. The box is quite small, with your subscription number on the bottom, the opening at the top, informatio on the back, and a little peep-hole in the front. It's sleek and black, very stylish.
Inside the box there's the sphere, that's the actual tech. There's also a wristband, a smaller clasp you can plug the tech into, and a string to wear it around your neck. This means you have a lot of different ways of actually having the fitbug on you. Lastly there is a pamplet to explain how to use all this, and a battery. The battery is actually the kind you would usually find in a watch. So you don't have to actually recharge this thing. This impressed me the most. I get a fully functioning fitness band for 5 months, without having to take it off at all. And when it runs out, I can just buy a new battery for it, and switch it out.
Here's a picture of me wearing the fitbug. Doesn't this look exactly like Eva from Wall-E?! Maybe it's just me... I have decided to try out both the wristband and smaller clasp. But to start with, I'm gonna try this one out first, though. I want it easy accesable, and as a visible reminder of why I bought it. This lazy ass is gonna get a workout! So far, from the few hours of wearing it, I'm not too bothered by the thing. But being a woman, who does not wear a watch, this is definitely something I feel on my wrist ALL THE TIME! You are just always aware of it being there. But, again. This is only my first impression

Since there is no display on your fitbug, the only way to know how you are doing is by syncing it to your phone, tablet or computer. They have a very good iphone/ipad app, that will let you know what info the fitbug have been collecting during the day. The app will presumably also send you motivational push-notifications, to make sure you don't sit on your ass all day. I am looking forward to seeing what that is about, hahah!
As I said before, this is my initial first impressions of the fitbug orb. when I've gotten used to it, I will write another blogpost about how it's going, and about my progression during that time.
Do you own any fitness tech?
What sort of every-day helpful tech do you have i your life?
