Hi Beauties!
First of all, I'm sorry for this long break on my blog. I have been busy since my boyfriend got vacation. We've been having family time, and being with the people we love. But let's get to it!
For about 13 years, I have wanted a tattoo. Not just in general, but a certain tattoo. And now I finally found the courage to having it done. I thought perhaps you guys would enjoy hearing about my experience.
First things first. I had spent a very long time, years, thinking over how I wanted my tattoo to look. So it was important to me I had a good tattoo artist. I chose Madam Blue, who has her shop in Aarhus in Denmark. She is the first female tattooist to get her own shop in Denmark, ever. Really cool! She understood what I wanted completely, and the stencil she made was nothing less than art, beautiful. We spent a good amount of time getting them on. And this is important people! Make sure your tattoo sits where you want it, and that it looks beautiful. If you are in doubt, ask the tattooist. They have more experience with this than you do.
Then comes the "scary" part. And I gotta say. I was prepared for death and destruction on my back. I mentally prepared myself with phrases like: "you gave birth. You can do this!" and "it's just a tattoo, having gallstones is totally worse. And you survived that.". And guess what. I was right. Having a tattoo is really not that bad. My right wing was a bit more tender than the left, but it was nothing. I could easily talk while it was done, and it only took 1½ hour. Between the two wings, She gave me a small break, to see what she'd done, stand up and walk around for a bit, and she gave me a soda to drink. Aparantly sugar low's are something that often happen when people get tattooed, so make sure you bring something sweet, if you decide to get one.
And here's the finished look. This is of course only the outlining. The shading will come later.
It's now 8 days since I had it done, and my tattoo is completely healed.
Every night for a week, my boyfriend cleaned it with a wet cloth, and then rubbed it with a healing lotion I got from the tattooist. The first day, the tattoo was a bit sore. Day 2 I hardly felt anything. Day 3-6 it was super itchy, and since then I haven't felt much, really. I think I've been lucky. Madam Blue told me, I had healthy skin, since I didn't bleed at all, and my healing process would be fast. Thank goodness she was right.
All in all, I have been super impressed by the entire experience. It was definitely worth it, and I can't wait for this tattoo to be completely done!
Do you have any tattoos?
If not, what is your opinion on them?
